Latest campaign news from EMRAG
The East Mill Road Action Group (EMRAG) was formed in 2006 with the main aim of allowing local residents and businesses a say in the redevelopment process of two derelict sites on Mill Road. The sites are the old Hollands garage and the former Robert Sayle warehouse. At a later stage parts of the Brookfields hospital and the sheltered housing in Seymour Street may also be made available for development.
EMRAG aims to encourage local residents and businesses to have a say in what should happen to this land.
During March 2007, 3,000 questionnaires were distributed throughout Romsey, to canvass opinions from local residents (the results of which can be found in the 'documents' section of the site). Additionally EMRAG met with the Urban Design Team from Cambridge City Council to have an input into a draft development brief. The brief has now been adopted by the Council's Environment Scrutiny Committee and will act as a blue-print for any potential developers.
To see EMRAGs response to the latest application on the Hollands Garage site, see the documents section of this website.
